Freight Forwarding in the UAE

We book the space, prepare the paperwork, clear the cargo and stay accountable for the shipment from collection to final delivery — whichever mode it moves on.

UAE-wide collectionSea, air & road freightCustoms documentation handledNamed coordinator per shipment

A freight forwarder arranges and controls the movement of your cargo rather than owning the ship, aircraft or truck. Tanish Ventures books sea, air and road capacity out of the UAE, prepares export and import documentation, handles customs formalities and coordinates collection and delivery, so one company is answerable for the whole shipment.

  3. Cargo receivedCollected or delivered to our handling point, checked against the packing list, weighed and measured.
  4. Customs and loadingExport declaration filed, cargo handed to the terminal or trucker, and shipping documents issued.
  5. In transitYou get vessel or flight confirmation and an estimated arrival, plus notice of any change.
  6. Clearance and deliveryImport formalities completed and cargo delivered, followed by a closing file with all documents.

What to know before you book

The value of a forwarder is concentrated in a few moments: choosing the routing, getting the documents right first time, and reacting when something slips. A wrong HS code, a missing certificate of origin, or a mismatch between the invoice value and the declaration will hold cargo far longer than a missed sailing — and demurrage and storage accrue while it sits.

We work to a document checklist per shipment before the cargo moves, not after. For exports that means confirming the buyer's requirements at destination, because the paperwork the importer needs is often stricter than what UAE customs requires. For imports it means confirming who is the declared importer of record, since that decides who pays duty and who carries the compliance risk.

We are deliberately mode-neutral. If your consignment is better on a truck to Riyadh than in a container, we will say so. If a part-load is cheap enough by air to be worth the extra cost against three weeks of tied-up stock, that comparison belongs in the quote.

What affects the price

  • Chargeable volume or weight — the single largest driver on every quote.
  • Number of pieces and packing state — loose cartons take more handling than shrink-wrapped pallets.
  • Incoterm — EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP and DDP each move cost and risk to a different party.
  • Destination country requirements — pre-shipment inspection or conformity certificates add both cost and lead time.
  • Permits — batteries, chemicals, food, cosmetics and pharma each carry their own approval chain.
  • Urgency — express air, expedited trucking and priority sea slots all carry premiums.

Who this service suits

  • Traders and wholesalers moving regular consignments in or out of the UAE
  • Manufacturers exporting finished goods or importing raw material and spares
  • E-commerce sellers moving stock into or out of UAE fulfilment
  • Project and contracting teams with equipment and material shipments
  • Overseas exporters who need a reliable UAE-side party

Frequently asked questions

What does a freight forwarder actually do?

It arranges transport rather than performing it: sourcing rates, booking capacity with carriers, preparing and checking documentation, handling customs formalities, arranging collection and delivery, and taking responsibility for coordinating all of it.

Do you handle imports as well as exports?

Yes. On imports we can act as your UAE-side agent, file the declaration, settle duty where agreed and deliver to your address.

Which incoterm should I use?

If you want control of the freight and the routing, buy EXW or FOB and let your forwarder move it. If you want a landed price with no involvement, ask for DAP or DDP. CIF is common but leaves you paying destination charges you did not negotiate.

Can you quote several modes at once?

Yes, and we prefer to when the choice is genuinely open. A sea, air and road comparison for the same cargo makes the trade-off between cost and days visible before you commit.

What documents will you need from me?

Normally a commercial invoice, a packing list with dimensions and weights per package, and your trade licence details. Specific commodities and destinations may add a certificate of origin, conformity certificate, permit or inspection report.

Do you charge for a quotation?

No. Quotations are free and itemised so you can see the freight, local charges, documentation and delivery separately.

How far ahead should I book?

For sea freight, three to five working days before the cut-off is comfortable; for air freight, one to two days. Book earlier before Ramadan, Eid, Chinese New Year and the Christmas peak, when space tightens and rates rise.
